Latest updates from SKEMA Business School’s campus in China

Dushu Lake Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Road Show, an event which provides student-entrepreneurs a platform to pitch their business ideas, successfully concluded on December 3. It featured 27 outstanding projects from more than 10 colleges and universities in Suzhou. Students from SKEMA Business School gave an excellent performance at the competition. Marie Prevot won the second prize with her Lu Xi En Project and Mathias Bucci Faoder won the third prize with Golden River Project.

Mini-Conference

On December 3, Dr. Philippe Chereau, Director of SKEMA Ventures, held a mini-conference at SKEMA’s Suzhou campus on the topic – Designing a successful business model: Guidelines for entrepreneurs. He shared with 24 students-entrepreneurs/intrapreneurs from SKEMA Business School, National University of Singapore, Suzhou Research Institute, and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, the methods and tools to build a viable and efficient business model. He focused on the transition from theory to practice and sharing experiences.

SKEMA Ventures Mini-Conference

Startup Kafe

On the day after the mini-conference, Dr. Chereau hosted a new edition of the traditional Startup Kafe event at the Suzhou campus. Twenty-one teachers and students attended it, including seven students from three different schools who presented an elevator pitch for their entrepreneurial projects. They received suggestions and guidance from experts and professors. Students also got the opportunity to have in-depth discussions with the experts during this “happy hour” event.
