SKEMA Business School’s campus in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is one of the best springboards for SKEMA entrepreneurs. This was demonstrated yet again during the Startup Kafé organized recently by the Belo Horizonte campus and SKEMA Ventures at the exceptional premises of the WeWork co-working space. The Startup Kafé was launched by Geneviève Poulingue, Director of the Belo Horizonte campus, and Philippe Chereau, Director of SKEMA Ventures, who highlighted the amazing potential of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Supported by the many professors and students and SKEMA’s various partners in Belo Horizonte, including the Dom Cabral Foundation, the SEED Incubator-Accelerator, and the ICLEI organization for local sustainable development, SKEMA entrepreneurs pitched their project and benefitted from exchanges and feedbacks from the audience. Everyone in the audience was also inspired by the testimony of Maxime Parra, SKEMA 2015 alumnus and founder of the FinTech startup New Trading that now operates both in France and Brazil. If the dynamism of an ecosystem is measured by the quality of projects and the enthusiasm of future entrepreneurs, there is no doubt that entrepreneurship in Belo Horizonte has a great future ahead of it.
