Four women entrepreneurs benefit from reverse mentoring workshop

SKEMA Alumni, the Women and Business Chair of SKEMA Business School, SKEMA Ventures, and the Force Femmes association organized a reverse mentoring workshop for four women entrepreneurs and members of the Force Femmes association at SKEMA Lille’s KCenter.

Reverse mentoring is a practice which involves utilizing the fresh insights and knowledge of younger members of the team to train the senior members. On February 5, the event began with a pitching session, followed by brainstorming and sharing of essential advice. Five alumni and three students also participated in the event. The objective was simple: supporting four women entrepreneurs in the development of their company.

Output

During the workshop, three mentoring sessions were held where the participants were divided into different teams which included a woman entrepreneur, alumni and a student. The discussions were respectful and the participants benefitted from each other’s feedback. The entrepreneurs were able to gain a third-person perspective through the insights and suggestions provided by the alumni and student experts. This enabled them to draw up a short-term action plan and complete the workshop on a high note. They got back to the development of their project with enthusiasm; some even considered repositioning their activity.
