SKEMA Ventures: A portfolio of entrepreneurship courses

Since the beginning of 2017, all SKEMA students from various programmes and at different campuses participate in events or teaching sessions that stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit. Elective courses, a MOOC, and even entrepreneurial tracks are offered to students who wish to hone and deepen their skills. The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a truly innovative and internationally recognized incubation programme, attracts entrepreneur-students from all over the world.

The Venture Family: a peer-to-peer community

The Venture Family is a unique feature of SKEMA’s The Venture Factory which brings together a peer-to-peer community of students and alumni in the service of entrepreneurship. By joining the SKEMA Venture Family, Master 2 students can help other students with their entrepreneurial projects by bringing in their specific academic expertise and gaining experience in the process(while obtaining ECTS credits for this help).

With SKEMA Ventures, SKEMA Business School offers its students a unique opportunity to be trained in entrepreneurship by taking the best of each territory to acquire a global vision of what is possible. In Paris, Lille, Sophia Antipolis, Suzhou, Raleigh and Belo Horizonte, our ambition is to help our entrepreneur-students imagine and develop these “born glocal” companies.

“Imagine in Sophia, incubate in Suzhou and accelerate in Raleigh.”

Contests

Without practice, theory makes little sense… and vice versa.

At SKEMA, we make the quotation from Kurt Lewin, “There is nothing so practical as a good theory,” our own. This is why teaching entrepreneurship at SKEMA is based on a close link between academic learning and learning by doing.

This is reflected in inter-campus courses that combine academic fundamentals and entrepreneurial challenges such as the Challenge IE, the Hackathon KM, the Défi Innovation, and the Challenge Jeunes Pousses organized by the Telecom Valley cluster, which brings together management, sciences, and law students.

Students also apply their knowledge at the SKEMA Ventures events such as the Hackathon, Bootstrap, Bootcamp, Booster, and startup Kafés.
