Learn how you can contribute to building a ‘smart’ future

Are you interested in contributing to building smarter and more connected communities? Triangle Smart Cities Summit 2018, being held at NC State University, Raleigh, U.S., on October 31, is bringing together city, industry and academic leaders to discuss and share ideas on how to make the community more connected and the region ‘smarter’. The event will enable you to gain essential insights into the current and future challenges and think of ways to mitigate them.

Entrepreneurs can especially benefit from the ‘Start-up Lightning Round – Innovations in Smart’ session scheduled between 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. The session will focus on the development and impact of smart technologies in the market and bring together some “Triangle start-up companies at various levels of maturity that are working in the ‘smart’ space.”

This session will be moderated by Tom Snyder, Executive Director, NC RIoT. It will also include Derrick Minor, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Manager, Office of Economic Development and Innovation, City of Raleigh; Scott Moody, CEO, K4Connect; Tyler Collins, VP of Energy and Telecom, PrecisionHawk; Keith Stewart, Chief Revenue Officer, Site 1001; and Ryan Kraudel, VP of Marketing, Valencell.

Triangle Smart Cities Summit 2018

It will be a good opportunity for students to network with influential entrepreneurs and professionals in this field and benefit from their experience and knowledge. Other sessions at the summit are on the following topics: 5G and the smart city, Meeting the infrastructure needs of the smart city, From smart technologies to smart cities: Human-machine collaboration, Robots in the skies: The role of drones in our smart cities, City leader panel: The engaged citizen – How municipalities can effectively engage community members, and Security and privacy: The proliferation of IoT devices and the implementation of smart city strategies.
